Professional Certificate Overview
The UF College of Medicine’s online Professional Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder comprises four 3-credit required courses, for a total of 12 credit hours. Individuals with a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent may apply for admission to the program. Students can go at their own pace in terms of how many courses they want to take at a time. Students can complete the program in as few as two semesters by taking two courses per semester.

Program Goal
The goal of this program is to equip professionals in diverse fields — including psychology, medicine, education, nursing, mental health, public health, business and many others — with knowledge of biomedical, clinical and social aspects of autism spectrum disorder. Students will learn effective strategies for treating, working and interacting with patients, students, clients, customers, employees and other individuals who are affected.
Professional Certificate Admission Requirements
The minimum requirements to apply to the professional certificate program are:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent
- An upper-division GPA of at least 2.0 (Grade C) from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent
