What is the benefit of taking courses as a non-degree seeking student?
If you’re not ready to pursue the Professional Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder, you have the option of applying as a non-degree seeking student, which allows you to sample courses from the certificate program without being formally admitted. This is an excellent way to strengthen skills in specified topics and ease into the online graduate learning experience. You will be able to transfer up to six non-degree credits to the professional certificate later, if you earn a grade of at least a “B” in your courses, and apply for and gain admission to the program.
What you should know when applying to take courses as a non-degree seeking student:
- You may apply to take up to 6 credit hours (two courses) from the Professional Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder as a non-degree seeking student.
- Courses are conducted entirely online and can be completed at your own pace.
- Being a non-degree seeking student does not guarantee admission to the professional certificate program if eligibility criteria are not met.
Curriculum Information
The following courses are available to non-degree seeking students:
- GMS6778 Introduction to ASD
- GMS6776 Neurology of ASD
- GMS6775 ASD Treatment & Intervention
- GMS6777 ASD Supports and Services Across the Lifespan
Non-degree seeking students may take one course at a time, or two at the same time. To continue beyond 6 credits (two courses), non-degree seeking students must apply for admission to the professional certificate.
Non-Degree Admission Requirements
The minimum requirements to apply to the professional certificate program are:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent
- An upper-division GPA of at least 2.0 (Grade C) from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent
